Tragic Shooting at Chiefs Super Bowl 2024 Rally Leaves One Dead and Dozens Injured

Kansas City is still grappling with the aftermath of a tragic shooting that occurred at the Chiefs Super Bowl 2024 rally last week. In a video posted on social media, Travis and Jason Kelce, hosts of the “New Heights Podcast,” addressed the events and expressed their condolences to the victims and their families.

The Kelce brothers had planned to release a pre-recorded episode on Wednesday but decided to address the incident first. Travis Kelce stated, “It didn’t feel right without you guys hearing from us first.” Jason Kelce added, “Our hearts go out to all the victims, their families, Chiefs Kingdom, and all of Kansas City that was there to celebrate the community.”

The shooting took place near Union Station at the end of the celebration, claiming the life of Lisa Lopez-Gavlan, a 43-year-old mother. At least 39 people were injured, including 12 children who have since been released from the hospital.

The Kelce brothers shared a link to the Chiefs emergency response fund for those who wish to support #ChiefsKingdom. They also announced their plans to further assist the community in the wake of this tragedy. “Have some ideas, but make sure you’re following, and we’ll be telling you guys ways we’ll be trying to get involved,” said Jason Kelce.

Travis Kelce concluded the video by expressing gratitude to their supporters, stating, “92 percenters, we appreciate you. Kansas City and Chiefs Kingdom, we love you guys. We’re with you guys, and we’ll see you guys soon.”
