In Quartz Hill, firefighters discovered the remains of a school teacher inside the trunk of a burned car on Wednesday. The incident occurred at a residence in the 41400 block of 38th West Street. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department began their investigation following the incident reported at approximately 8:20 a.m. Neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming and an explosion prior to the fire.
A man, who identified himself as the uncle of the deceased teacher, spoke to KCAL News but chose not to reveal her name. He described her as a 27-year-old elementary school teacher from Quartz Hill, who worked in Palmdale. The school had contacted her family upon her absence from work.
The uncle mentioned that his niece had been in a romantic relationship for about a year, but he had limited information about her partner. According to neighbors, the boyfriend owned the home where the incident took place and rented rooms to various individuals. Authorities are currently seeking the homeowner, who has not yet made contact with them.
