Three children, aged 12, 13, and 14, face criminal charges for an armed robbery in Fort Myers, Florida, on Friday. The Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) reported that the trio stole cash before fleeing the scene. The firearm used in the robbery was found to be stolen from Collier County.

Local residents in the area mentioned that they had previously seen the two younger boys in the vicinity. One neighbor described the area as generally quiet, but on Friday, FMPD officers swarmed the area in search of the three young suspects. Concerned for their safety, residents were advised to stay indoors.

After approximately an hour, law enforcement officers successfully located and arrested the suspects. The release of the suspects’ mugshots by FMPD has sparked online debates among community members regarding the appropriateness of posting them. Police have noted an increase in robberies in the area recently and are investigating any potential connections.
