Therapist Arrested for Sexual Assault, Potential Additional Victims Sought

Westminster police have apprehended Trinidad Ruiz, a 48-year-old therapist, on charges of sexual assault. The arrest was made on January 3, 2024, at 1162 W. 132nd Place in Westminster, according to investigator Cheri Spottke. Authorities suspect that there may be other victims involved.

Ruiz, who holds an active “licensed professional counselor candidate” temporary permit issued in September 2020, has not faced any disciplinary or board actions as of Wednesday, as per state records. The alleged incident came to light on May 12, 2023, when a woman reported being sexually assaulted during a session with Ruiz. She had sought the services of an unlicensed alternative therapist to address past trauma.

Trinidad Ruiz is identified as the owner of Holistic and Integrative Consulting in Broomfield, where he works as a mental health therapist and psychedelic integration specialist and coach, according to his LinkedIn page.

Westminster police are urging anyone who may have had an inappropriate sexual interaction with Ruiz while under his care to come forward. They can contact the police at 303-658-4360 (option 2) and reference case number 2023-08678.
