San Jose police have apprehended Alejandro Lopez Nunez, a 48-year-old behavioral therapist at Trumpet Behavioral Health and a part-time instructional aide at Forest Hill Elementary School, on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor girl during a therapy session. The arrest took place on June 9 in Santa Clara, according to a news release by the police department. Lopez Nunez was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The alleged assault occurred on June 7 at the victim’s residence, prompting a call to the police on June 8. Upon investigation, authorities confirmed that the assault had indeed taken place. The San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force conducted an extensive inquiry, revealing that Lopez Nunez had assaulted the girl multiple times since March.
Given Lopez Nunez’s position as a person of trust, law enforcement officials suspect that there may be additional victims. They urge anyone with information related to this case or any other incidents to come forward and contact Detective Minten #4269 at the SJPD Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The arrest of Lopez Nunez has sent shockwaves through the community, as parents and guardians grapple with the disturbing allegations against an individual entrusted with the well-being of children. The authorities are committed to thoroughly investigating the matter and ensuring justice is served.
