Teenager Injured in West Philadelphia Shooting; Two Juveniles in Custody

Two juveniles are currently in police custody following a shooting incident that left a teenager injured in West Philadelphia on Monday night. The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Market Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was promptly transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where medical staff reported his condition as stable.

Real-time surveillance cameras in the area captured footage of two individuals dressed in dark clothing fleeing the scene. Acting swiftly, law enforcement officers observed two males matching the suspects’ description in the vicinity of 57th and Sansom streets. After a brief pursuit, both suspects were apprehended. Notably, one of the juveniles was found to be in possession of a handgun.

As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting continues, both suspects remain in police custody. The Philadelphia Police Department is diligently working to determine the motive and events leading up to the incident.
