A police chase in Florida City ended tragically when a 17-year-old driver crashed into a home, resulting in the driver’s death. The incident began as a routine traffic stop, during which the driver, identified as Brandon Madison, abruptly slammed the door on an officer and fled the scene. Madison was driving a rented black Mercedes, which ultimately collided with an apartment building on the 300 block of Southwest 336th Street.
The impact of the crash caused significant damage to the apartment, leaving a gaping hole in the structure. The vehicle ended up overturned next to the building. Miami-Dade police reported that the pursuit was initiated by officers from the robbery intervention detail who had attempted to pull Madison over. However, he evaded capture, struck another vehicle, and eventually lost control of the car, leading to the fatal crash.
Madison succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities discovered that a handgun with a high-capacity magazine and several bullets had been thrown from the vehicle during the chase. The firearm was later recovered by investigators. Residents in the area now face the task of repairing their damaged homes.
