Teen Arrested in Series of Intentional Huntington Beach Hit-and-Runs

A teenager is in custody following a series of deliberate hit-and-run incidents in Huntington Beach, California, which resulted in one fatality and two injuries. Police spokesperson Jessica Cuchilla reported that on Sunday night, the suspect, driving a black Toyota, struck three bicyclists in separate incidents within a span of 30 minutes. The third victim, 70-year-old Steven Gonzales, was found alive by paramedics but tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

On Tuesday, the suspect’s vehicle was located in Huntington Beach, leading to the teen’s arrest at around 9 p.m. While the suspect’s identity and age remain undisclosed, he faces charges including one count of homicide and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. As investigations continue to ascertain the motive, the suspect is being held at the Orange County Juvenile Hall. Huntington Beach Police Chief Eric Parra praised the investigators for their relentless efforts and the community for their assistance in apprehending the dangerous individual.
