Teacher Arrested for Alleged Annoying or Molesting of Student at San Jose Charter School

A teacher at ACE Empower Academy in San Jose was arrested last week on suspicion of annoying or molesting a student, according to the San José Police Department. The incident occurred on December 13, 2023, when authorities were called to the public charter school located on South Sunset Avenue.

The arrest came after an investigation conducted by the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation revealed that a 28-year-old teacher had engaged in inappropriate handwritten and electronic communications with a student. It remains unclear whether the student involved was enrolled in the teacher’s class.

On March 20, the suspect was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of annoying or molesting a minor. The San José Police Department urges anyone with information related to this case or similar incidents to contact Detective Camarillo #4576 of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
