Taylor Swift’s Father Accused of Assaulting Paparazzi Photographer in Sydney

Police in New South Wales are currently investigating an alleged assault involving Scott Swift, the father of pop icon Taylor Swift. The incident occurred at Neutral Bay Wharf in Sydney, where a paparazzi photographer named Ben McDonald claims to have been punched in the face by Swift. McDonald, who has been working in the industry for 23 years, expressed shock at the incident, stating, “In 23 years of doing this, I’ve never been assaulted, let alone been punched in the face by a father.”

According to a statement released by the NSW Police, the alleged assault took place at approximately 2:30 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The report states that a 71-year-old man, later identified as Scott Swift, assaulted a 51-year-old man before leaving the location. The younger man, McDonald, promptly reported the incident to the authorities, leading to an ongoing investigation by officers attached to the North Shore Police Area Command.

Taylor Swift, a highly successful music artist with numerous accolades to her name, recently concluded her Australian tour with a performance at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, attended by a massive crowd of 81,000 fans.
