Sword-Wielding Attacker Leaves Five Hospitalized in East London

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Thurlow Gardens, East London, a sword-wielding attacker has left five people, including two police officers, hospitalized on Tuesday morning. The assailant crashed his van into a house before proceeding to stab multiple individuals seemingly at random. The Metropolitan Police swiftly responded to reports of the incident, which occurred just before 7 a.m.

A 36-year-old man was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police in a statement. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the wider community and that authorities are not seeking additional suspects. Furthermore, the incident does not appear to be terror-related, according to the statement.

Eyewitnesses described the horrifying attack, recounting how they saw a man brandishing a samurai sword and stabbing four people after crashing his van into a house. The conditions of those hospitalized have not been disclosed by the police.
