A suspect involved in a shocking road rage incident that shook the Oakland community is now facing serious federal charges. Antoyne Bullock, aged 43, has been charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a federal offense that could result in a maximum of 10 years behind bars, according to court records.

The incident in question took place on May 25th on Interstate 580 near Keller Avenue, when Bullock allegedly fired shots at a Dodge vehicle traveling alongside his own Ford. The intense gunfire caused the Dodge driver to lose control and collide with Bullock’s vehicle, resulting in a terrifying flip. Remarkably, both Bullock and his 37-year-old female passenger miraculously escaped unscathed.

According to the police, the shooting occurred as Bullock and the woman were en route to an Oakland hotel around 2 p.m. An altercation took place between Bullock and an older male driver of the Dodge, prompting Bullock to unleash a hail of bullets despite the woman’s desperate pleas for him to stop. Although the shooting shattered a window of the Dodge, no one inside the vehicle was injured.

In a peculiar twist to the story, it has been revealed that the woman, while imploring Bullock not to fire, ultimately took matters into her own hands after the collision. She allegedly threw Bullock’s firearm into a nearby bush before law enforcement officials arrived at the accident scene, as detailed by authorities. The investigation promptly recovered the weapon from the bush, along with a loaded magazine found in Bullock’s pocket, solidifying the evidence against him.

Notably, the woman has not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing at this time.

Uncovering Bullock’s criminal history, the complaint reveals that he holds four prior felony convictions between 1998 and 2012, rendering him ineligible to possess firearms under the law.

As Bullock’s attorney and the prosecution engage in negotiations for a potential plea deal, an indictment is expected to be filed later this month.

The court appearance on July 18th resulted in Bullock being remanded and ordered to remain in custody until the case is concluded.

This incident has shaken the Oakland community, reminding us of the dangers lurking within our daily commutes. The justice system now stands prepared to hold Bullock accountable for his alleged reckless actions, proving that no one is above the law when it comes to jeopardizing innocent lives.
