A man wanted in connection with the fatal shootings of eight people in the Joliet area has been found dead in Texas. Romeo Nance, 23, was located by U.S. Marshals on Monday night after he took his own life, according to the Joliet Police Department. Medina County Sheriff officials received a tip that Nance was heading into their county, leading to a standoff at Chubby’s gas station in Natalia. Nance sustained self-inflicted gunshot wounds and died at around 8:30 p.m. Joliet police Chief Williams Evans described the crime scene as one of the worst he has ever encountered. The manhunt for Nance was launched after eight people were killed at three locations in the Joliet area since Sunday.
