The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office swiftly apprehended a suspect involved in a robbery at a 7-Eleven store located in the 400 block of El Camino Real in Millbrae. The incident occurred on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. when the suspect, identified as 36-year-old San Francisco resident Meleane F. Havea, stole multiple items from the store before leaving.
Shortly after, the suspect returned to the scene armed with a metal rod, which was used to assault an employee. Fortunately, the employee sustained only minor injuries during the altercation.
Following the incident, diligent efforts by the San Francisco Police Department’s officers led to the location of Havea on San Bruno Ave. in San Francisco the following day. Havea was taken into custody and subsequently arrested by deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
Havea now faces charges of robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect has been booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility pending further legal proceedings.
The swift response and collaboration between law enforcement agencies ensured the apprehension of the suspect, bringing a sense of relief to the affected community.
