Shooting and Car Crash in Antioch Leaves One Injured

Antioch, CA – A violent incident unfolded on Tuesday evening in Antioch, resulting in a shooting, a car crash, and one person injured. The Antioch Police Department responded to a call reporting gunshots and a subsequent traffic collision at the intersection of East 18th Street and Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 6:50 p.m.

According to authorities, the incident originated in a nearby parking lot where two unidentified males launched an assault on another male. In response to the attack, the victim retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired at the assailants as they fled the scene in their car.

In an attempt to evade the gunfire, the assailants made an illegal U-turn against a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision with another vehicle traveling east on East 18th Street. Following the crash, both the assailants and the shooter fled the scene. As of Wednesday, law enforcement officials have been unable to locate any of the individuals involved.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck was transported to a local hospital after complaining of pain. The extent of their injuries remains undisclosed.
