Serial Stalking Pilot Arrested Again for Allegedly Following Woman with Order of Protection

A suspected serial stalking pilot, Michael Arnold, has been arrested for the third time in just four months. The 65-year-old retired merchant marine is accused of relentlessly pursuing a woman who had an order of protection against him. The latest incident occurred on January 12th at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville, New York, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Arnold allegedly trailed the woman in his maroon car, driving slowly behind her before briefly stopping and then driving off. Law enforcement officials have not confirmed if this incident involves the same victim as the previous charges. However, the gravity of the situation cannot be understated.

The initial arrests occurred in October when Arnold allegedly flew his small, single-engine plane over the house of 42-year-old Cassie Wilusz, taking intrusive photos of her property. Further investigation revealed that Arnold had created a fake Facebook account to harass and threaten Wilusz’s daughter. Despite his claims of not knowing Wilusz, videos surfaced showing him circling her home in his plane and following her in his car.

Arnold faced a multitude of charges in October, leading to arraignments in Milton Town Court, Saratoga, and Vermont Superior Courts. Concerns about his mental stability were raised by Schuylerville Mayor Dan Carpenter, who worried about the potential escalation of Arnold’s actions. The small residential area could be at risk if his behavior spiraled out of control, Carpenter warned.

Wilusz, the owner of Revolution Cafe in Schuylerville, revealed that Arnold had been a former customer who turned into a nightmare after she rejected his vulgar advances in November 2019. The situation escalated when Arnold sent her explicit photos, prompting her to confront him. Since then, he has allegedly been terrorizing her and her family, frequently flying over her home and following her in his car during her daily routines.

Despite previous arrests, Arnold was released on bail after each incident in October. However, this time, he has been held without bail in Saratoga County Jail. The community remains on edge, fearing what Arnold’s next move might be.
