Sentencing Hearing Underway for Former WWE Star Tamara Sytch in Volusia County

A sentencing hearing is currently taking place in Volusia County for former WWE star Tamara Sytch, who is facing up to 25 years in prison. Sytch pleaded no contest to causing a deadly crash in Ormond Beach last year. The crash resulted in the death of a 75-year-old man and injuries to others.

During the hearing, mental health experts testified about Sytch’s health and well-being. The defense argued that her alcoholism stemmed from traumatic relationships and her pro wrestling career. However, prosecutors countered that her prior convictions related to drinking and driving in other states, such as Pennsylvania, indicated that alcoholism was not a factor in the crash.

Authorities reported that Sytch was three times over the legal limit at the time of the crash. She pleaded no contest to two felony charges of driving with a suspended license causing death, as well as six misdemeanor charges.

The court recessed around 11:30 AM and is expected to reconvene in approximately 45 minutes. The hearing has attracted attention due to Sytch’s previous fame as a WWE star in the 90s.
