Tension has risen within the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community following the abduction of Dr Comfort Adokwe, a senior lecturer at the university. Dr Adokwe, who works in the Faculty of Administration and serves as the Deputy Director of Gender Studies, was kidnapped on Sunday night from her residence in Angwan Jaba, Keffi. Unknown gunmen invaded her compound, firing shots into the air before taking her away. Comrade Ali Sule, Chairman of the Community Development Association, confirmed the incident and called on security agencies to take immediate action to ensure her safe return.
This incident occurred just one week after four students from the university were also kidnapped near Angwan Kare. The abductors of the students demanded a ransom of N20 million for their release. The school authorities have been contacted by the kidnappers to negotiate the ransom.
The NSUK community is now anxiously awaiting the safe return of Dr Comfort Adokwe, while urging security agencies to intensify efforts to secure her release.
