San Rafael Man Arrested on Multiple Gun and Drug Charges

San Rafael resident Joshua Hall was arrested on Monday by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office after providing a false name during a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation in southern Marin. Hall, who was identified by deputies, was found to have outstanding warrants from both Marin and Sonoma counties.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office reported that Hall had a no-bail warrant from Marin County for driving without a license, as well as another no-bail warrant from Sonoma County for a violation of probation. During a subsequent probation search of Hall’s vehicle, law enforcement officials discovered an un-serialized P80 9 mm handgun with a loaded magazine, along with a significant quantity of processed marijuana and marijuana concentrate.

In addition to the firearm and drugs, deputies also recovered a substantial amount of cash, a scale, and small bags from the vehicle. It is important to note that, as a convicted felon, Hall is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Hall was taken into custody and booked into Marin County Jail on multiple charges, including false identification to a police officer, possession of marijuana for sales, transporting marijuana for sales, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an un-serialized firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a large-capacity magazine, driving with a suspended license, and violation of probation. These charges are in addition to the two outstanding warrants.

The arrest of Joshua Hall serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat illegal activities related to drugs and firearms. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
