San Leandro Man Shot in East Oakland, in Stable Condition

A 25-year-old man from San Leandro was shot on Monday night in East Oakland, according to authorities. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a leg wound and is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 10:11 p.m. at the intersection of 26th Avenue and East 25th Street, an area primarily consisting of residential properties.

Upon receiving an alert from a gunshot detection system, officers arrived at the scene to find shell casings and a blood trail, but no sign of the victim. Fortunately, a stray bullet struck a nearby house, but no individuals inside were injured. Subsequently, it was determined that the wounded man had managed to make his way back to his residence in San Leandro before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and the police have not disclosed the reason for the man’s presence in Oakland. No information regarding the suspect has been released at this time. In an effort to gather more details and apprehend the shooter, the Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are jointly offering a reward of up to $5,000.
