A 28-year-old man from San Francisco was tragically shot and killed in a dispute that took place in East Oakland on Saturday night. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. The incident occurred at approximately 10:32 p.m. in the 1700 block of 13th Avenue, following an altercation between the victim and another individual.
After sustaining gunshot wounds, the man managed to enter his vehicle and drive a short distance before crashing in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue. Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 11:02 p.m.
The reasons behind the victim’s presence in Oakland and the nature of the dispute leading to the shooting are currently under investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. This marks the 14th homicide being investigated by the Oakland police this year, a lower figure compared to the 20 homicides investigated at the same time last year.
