San Antonio Police Arrest 19-Year-Old for Two Separate Drive-By Shootings Resulting in Three Deaths

San Antonio Police have arrested 19-year-old Nathan Martinez in connection with two separate fatal shootings, one on Father’s Day 2022 and another in August 2022. The Father’s Day incident, which occurred on the southwest side of San Antonio, disrupted a family gathering and resulted in two deaths. Fourteen months later, a mother and her 17-year-old son were attacked while sitting in their garage just a mile away from the first shooting scene. The teenager succumbed to his injuries a week later.

Martinez faces multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and drug possession. “We are very relieved to get this individual – who honestly has no regard for human life – off the streets,” stated Sergeant Washington Moscoso of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

Ballistic evidence linked Martinez to both crimes, with Moscoso noting that the evidence from a separate shooting, which Martinez was allegedly involved in, matched that found at the scene of the August attack on Mosscircle Drive. At the time of this latest incident, Martinez was on probation following a prior arrest during a traffic stop, where he was reportedly found with drugs and a machine gun.

SAPD’s investigation also included a review of Martinez’s social media accounts, where he allegedly bragged about targeting a rival gang member. The weapon used in the Mosscircle Drive shooting was modified with a switch, effectively transforming it into an automatic weapon.
