Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Sexual Assault of Volunteer

A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy, Alexander Vanny, was arrested on Saturday and subsequently booked on suspicion of sexually assaulting a volunteer within the department. The arrest came after a female volunteer reported the sexual assault to another deputy on Friday. The sheriff’s department promptly initiated an investigation upon receiving the report.

Following the investigation, evidence of a sexual assault was discovered, leading to the arrest of Vanny, an eight-year veteran of the sheriff’s department. Vanny had been serving at the Hemet Sheriff’s Station prior to his arrest. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office expressed its strong condemnation of any misconduct involving its personnel, both on and off duty, and reaffirmed its commitment to preventing and deterring such behavior.

Vanny, who faces serious charges, including kidnapping to commit rape, rape by force, and forced oral copulation, was held on $1-million bail. Records indicate that he was released on Sunday.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is taking this matter seriously and is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its volunteers and personnel. The department’s swift response to the reported sexual assault demonstrates its dedication to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

  1. I can’t believe another case of alleged sexual assault involving law enforcement has come to light. It’s truly disheartening to hear about these incidents happening within the very institutions that are supposed to protect and serve. I would be interested to know the author’s thoughts on how these cases affect public trust in law enforcement and what steps they believe should be taken to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
