Reality TV Star Arrested for Failure to Surrender to Federal Prison

Former reality TV star Brittish “Cierrah” Williams was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday after she failed to surrender herself to federal prison to begin her sentence. Williams, 34, pleaded guilty in May 2023 to multiple charges, including misuse of a Social Security number, bank fraud, making false statements to the IRS, and wire fraud. She was indicted in September 2021.

Williams, known for her appearances on shows like “Basketball Wives LA” and “Marriage Boot Camp,” was sentenced in October 2023 to four years in prison, along with five years of supervised release and a restitution payment of $564,069. Initially, her surrender date was extended to allow her to spend the Christmas holiday with her 5-year-old daughter. However, she failed to report to the designated Federal Prison Camp Alderson in West Virginia on January 3, 2024.

During the court hearing, Williams’ attorney, Michael Thompson, claimed that her failure to report was due to a “miscommunication” with her lawyers. Williams also apologized to the judge. Consequently, the judge revoked her bond and ordered her remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals. She will be extradited to the women’s minimum-security facility in Alderson.

According to prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, Williams engaged in various fraudulent activities, including under-reporting her income on tax returns, falsely claiming dependents, and using other individuals’ Social Security numbers to open accounts with financial institutions. She also obtained loans intended for struggling businesses and pandemic relief programs, using the funds to support her lifestyle.

Williams’ fraudulent schemes resulted in known losses, both actual and intended, totaling $446,082. Additionally, an indictment was recently filed against her ex-boyfriend, Lorenzo Gordon, accusing him of falsifying applications for pandemic relief loans. Gordon, a former professional basketball player, appeared alongside Williams on “Basketball Wives LA” and is the father of their child.
