Rapper Polo G Arrested on Gun Charges at Manhattan Hotel

Rapper Polo G, whose real name is Taurus Bartlett, was apprehended on gun charges at a luxury hotel in lower Manhattan, according to officials. The incident unfolded at the Dominick Hotel on Spring Street in SoHo, where the California-based artist was staying. A maid cleaning his room discovered a loaded Glock handgun, leading to the involvement of law enforcement.

During the arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court, Bartlett faced charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. Prosecutors revealed that the gun, a black Glock, was found on a loveseat inside Polo G’s room. It was loaded with a bullet in the chamber and nine additional rounds in the magazine, as stated in the criminal complaint.

In defense of his client, Polo G’s attorney, Stacey Richman, emphasized his dedication to his rap career and requested no bail. Richman argued that the rapper had no intention to flee, given the professional success he has achieved. However, prosecutors contended that Polo G posed a flight risk, citing his previous encounters with the law, including a misdemeanor conviction. They also mentioned his arrests on kidnapping, robbery, and assault charges in Los Angeles last August.

Judge Kevin McGrath ultimately set bail at $25,000 in cash. Shortly after the court appearance, Polo G posted the required amount. His attorney refrained from commenting on the proceedings. The rapper, born in Chicago, gained rapid fame with hit singles such as “Finer Things” and “Pop Out,” featuring Lil Tjay. His debut album, “Die A Legend,” reached No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 and achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

  1. It is unfortunate to hear about Polo G’s recent arrest on gun charges. This incident highlights the importance of gun control and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such situations. It also serves as a reminder of the potential consequences individuals may face when carrying firearms illegally. This real-world example can be used to advocate for more comprehensive background checks and measures to ensure that guns are only in the hands of responsible and law-abiding citizens. It is crucial to address these issues to promote public safety and prevent further incidents
