Possible Freeway Shooting Investigated by California Highway Patrol

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently conducting an investigation into a potential freeway shooting incident after an individual arrived at a Richmond hospital on Tuesday night with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The hospital promptly contacted the CHP at approximately 8:40 p.m. to report the incident.

According to CHP officer Andrew Barclay, the victim claimed that the gunshot originated from an unknown location along Interstate 80. In response, the CHP took immediate action by temporarily closing the westbound lanes of the freeway at McBryde Avenue for approximately one hour.

At present, the CHP does not possess any information regarding the suspect’s description or the vehicle involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the CHP will continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
