In a possible bank robbery incident that unfolded on Tuesday evening, law enforcement officials in Fullerton, California were confronted with a tense situation that culminated in an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred at a Wells Fargo bank located on the 100 block of West Bastanchury Road.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers swiftly responded to reports of a potential bank robbery at approximately 5:09 p.m. As a precautionary measure, employees were evacuated from the premises. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was also called to the scene to assist.
Eyewitnesses inside the bank reported that the suspect brandished what appeared to be an explosive device. As the suspect exited the bank, an officer-involved shooting took place. The Fullerton Police Department has refrained from providing further details, citing an ongoing investigation.
The fate of the suspect remains uncertain, although CBS News has reported that the unidentified individual died at the scene. KTLA, on the other hand, has stated that the suspect was shot after leaving the bank.
