Police Raid Two Massage Parlors in El Sobrante as Part of Sex Trafficking Investigation

El Sobrante police conducted a raid on two massage parlors located on Appian Way as part of an ongoing investigation into sex trafficking. The first location, which has been the target of four separate undercover operations since 2018, has consistently revealed instances of masseuses offering sexual services to undercover officers or resulting in police raids where incriminating evidence was seized. The second location, situated on the 400 block of Appian Way, was also subject to a prostitution investigation in 2021, according to police and court records.

In February, law enforcement officials executed simultaneous raids at both locations. Additionally, they proceeded to search the Hayward residence of an individual believed to be involved in the operation of one of the brothels. During this operation, authorities seized over $9,000 in cash.

Undercover officers visited both establishments and were allegedly solicited by sex workers, leading to the subsequent raids. At one of the locations, a woman took the hands of an undercover officer and placed them on her breasts, demanding a $60 tip for the massage. In a previous incident in 2022, police confiscated an assault rifle from the parlor on the 4400 block of Appian Way following a similar undercover investigation. In 2018, an undercover officer was handed a condom and quoted a price for sexual intercourse at the same location.

The individual suspected of managing the massage parlor on the 4400 block of Appian Way is under investigation for allegedly promoting prostitution in Texas. Authorities have also discovered connections between this individual and other suspected brothels in the Bay Area.

In 2021, the massage parlor on the 400 block of Appian Way was investigated after a customer reported that a masseuse performed a sexual act without his consent following a massage.
