Police in Jackson, Mississippi have revealed new findings connecting a deadly chase and crash to a series of auto burglaries in the area. The incident began when officers near Raymond and Terry Road attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver fled, initiating a pursuit. The stolen car was later found crashed on University Boulevard and Hwy 80. Upon running the license plate, officers discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Authorities had been canvassing the area following a string of auto burglaries. Captain Kevin Nash of the Jackson Police Department stated that during the investigation, officers found guns and a significant amount of drugs on one of the individuals involved. It was later determined that the crashed vehicle was connected to the burglaries in the area.
Two individuals involved in the incident were pronounced dead, while two others were transported to the hospital. The investigation into the deadly chase and crash is ongoing.
