A police chase in Newhall, California, came to an end on Wednesday when the California Highway Patrol (CHP) executed a PIT maneuver on the 5 Freeway near Magic Mountain Parkway.
At least one tire on the suspect’s vehicle was going flat before the CHP officer performed the maneuver, causing the stolen car to spin out. The suspect, who did not appear to be wearing shoes, surrendered and was taken into custody.
The use of a PIT maneuver is a rare occurrence in police chases.
