Police Chase Ends in Crash on I-465 in Indianapolis; One Suspect Still at Large

A police chase on I-465 in Indianapolis ended in a crash today, with three suspects in custody and one still at large. The Indiana Crime Guns Task Force was conducting an investigation on the southeast side of the city when they spotted four individuals believed to be armed getting into a car. When officers attempted to pull them over, the suspects refused to comply and a pursuit ensued. The chase lasted several miles before officers decided to stop for safety reasons.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects driving recklessly on I-465, with cell phone videos capturing the moment police officers ran between cars with rifles in hand and searched through bushes in pursuit of the suspects. The chase ultimately ended when the suspects crashed into another vehicle occupied by uninvolved citizens. One person in the vehicle suffered minor scrapes and bruises.

Multiple videos shared with investigators showed the suspects being taken into custody. The assistance of drones, K-9 units, and the IP helicopter aided in the capture of the three individuals who are now in custody. Two handguns were found inside the suspects’ crashed vehicle.

Police are still searching for the fourth individual involved in the incident. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
