Police Chase Across Three States Ends in Fiery Crash on Interstate 55 in DeSoto County, Mississippi, One Fatality Reported

A police chase spanning three states concluded in a fiery crash on Interstate 55 in DeSoto County, Mississippi. The pursuit began in Marion, Arkansas, and proceeded through Memphis before ending just north of Hernando. One person has tragically died in the crash. The suspect involved in the chase is currently in police custody.

The incident originated from a domestic dispute in Marion, Arkansas, where the suspect allegedly ran the woman off the road, causing her to collide with a concrete wall. The individuals involved in the incident are reported to be from Wisconsin, and the woman had a no-contact order against the suspect.

Law enforcement officers pursued the suspect into DeSoto County, where they utilized stop sticks to halt the chase. However, the suspect crossed the median into oncoming traffic in the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. The driver of the truck succumbed to their injuries.

The suspect is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital and remains in police custody.
