Woodbury Heights, New Jersey – The owner of a pet grooming business in Woodbury Heights is now facing drug charges after a dog death incident last week. Trevor Hunt, the proprietor of K9 Kingdom located on the 500 block of Woodbury-Glassboro Road, was taken into custody by Woodbury police on July 12.
Authorities were alerted to the situation when officers responded to reports of a deceased dog at the grooming establishment. The dog’s owner had dropped off their pet earlier in the day for a routine grooming appointment. However, they received a distressing call from Hunt, who informed them of the dog’s sudden demise.
Upon arrival at K9 Kingdom, law enforcement officers encountered a tense Hunt who allegedly attempted to delete evidence from his phone, as per court documents obtained by Action News. Subsequently, Hunt resisted arrest and was subdued by officers.
A subsequent search warrant executed at the business premises later that evening led to the discovery of numerous small plastic bags containing suspected heroin. Some of these bags were labeled “Alien rock” and “House party III,” according to authorities.
Trevor Hunt, 39, is currently facing charges of tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He is presently being held at the Salem County Jail pending a detention hearing.
