Canadian actor Percy Hynes White has announced his departure from the popular Netflix series “Wednesday” following allegations of assault. The 22-year-old actor, known for his role as Xavier Thorpe, had been captivating audiences with his portrayal of a student with the ability to bring art to life. The allegations first surfaced in a now-deleted tweet by an anonymous user on January 18, accusing Hynes White of assaulting her at a party he hosted in Toronto. The accuser further claimed that the party was organized with the intention of coercing women into physical encounters through intoxication.
Sources close to Hynes White’s family have confirmed his departure from the show. Despite the allegations, an insider defended the actor, describing him as a “remarkable young man” who chose not to engage with the unverified claims on Twitter. Fellow cast member Jenna Ortega, who appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast in March, expressed support for Hynes White, stating that they had a close relationship while filming in Romania.
The allegations have cast a shadow over Hynes White’s promising career, which included notable appearances in “The Twilight Zone” and “The Gifted.” However, it is important to note that these allegations have not resulted in any charges or legal action against the actor.
