Patrick Mahomes Sr. Faces Additional Legal Trouble for Driving with Invalid License

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, finds himself in further legal trouble after being caught driving with an invalid license in Tyler, Texas. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that this citation is connected to Mahomes Sr.’s previous DWI arrest in the same city just four months ago.

According to the court records, Mahomes Sr. was initially pulled over for a routine traffic violation related to disregarding traffic signs. While he received a warning for this offense, he was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license. It is worth noting that Texas imposes severe penalties for DUI/DWI, with first-time offenders potentially facing a fine of up to $2,000 and 120 days in county jail. This marks Mahomes Sr.’s third DUI/DWI charge.

An affidavit obtained by The Post indicates that Mahomes Sr. could face up to 10 years in prison for his latest DWI charge. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 22 for his DWI arrest, and an additional court date has been set for July 29 regarding the driving without a valid license citation.

This recent encounter with law enforcement adds to Mahomes Sr.’s previous arrest in early February, coinciding with his son’s preparation for Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. At that time, Mahomes Sr. was arrested for having an open 16-ounce Coors beer in his center console. Despite the distraction, Patrick Mahomes Jr. led the Chiefs to a 25-22 Super Bowl victory with his father in attendance.
