Patrick Mahomes and Wife Visit Injured Family Members of Shooting Victim During Chiefs’ Super Bowl Parade

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany showed their support for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvin, who tragically lost her life during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Missouri. The couple visited the injured family members, including two young girls aged 8 and 10, who were shot in the leg during the parade.

Photos captured Patrick and Brittany Mahomes with the two girls on Friday, as they continue their recovery at Children’s Mercy Hospital. The girls, who are cousins of Lopez-Galvin, underwent surgery and are expected to be in casts for several months. The Reyes family, in a statement, expressed their gratitude towards the Mahomes and the hospital staff for their unwavering care, love, and support.

While the family is relieved by the progress the girls have made, they acknowledge the ongoing emotional healing process for everyone affected. The incident occurred while the girls were celebrating with their family, and the family requests that the public keep them and the other affected families in their thoughts and prayers.

In addition to the Mahomes’ visit, the family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with the girls’ recovery. Notably, singer Taylor Swift, who is dating Mahomes’ teammate Travis Kelce and is friends with Brittany, generously donated $100,000 to support the cause.

Authorities have charged two juveniles in connection with the shooting that resulted in Lopez-Galvin’s death and left 22 others injured. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
