Between August 19, 2023, and August 25, 2023, law enforcement agencies in San Bernardino County, California, conducted Operation Consequences, a targeted crime suppression effort. The operation involved investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, and multiple patrol stations, as well as personnel from California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
During the one-week period, 19 search warrants were served in San Bernardino, Victorville, Apple Valley, and Rialto. As a result, investigators made 19 felony arrests and seized 12 firearms, including two unserialized (ghost guns). Additionally, nearly two pounds of narcotics were located and seized.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorized funds to support county-wide crime suppression efforts. The additional funding will enable the Sheriff’s Department to enhance law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in the county.
Operation Consequences will continue over the next several months, focusing on conducting targeted crime suppression operations, parole and probation checks, and efforts to curb violent crime. Its objectives include disrupting and dismantling targeted criminal street gangs, locating and arresting individuals illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms.
