Ontario Christian High School Senior Arrested for Alleged School Shooting Plot

An Ontario Christian High School senior, Sebastian Villasenor, has been arrested and charged with five counts of attempted murder and one count of attempted criminal threats. The charges were filed by San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson. Villasenor, 18, is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and is scheduled for a formal arraignment on Thursday.

Ontario Police Chief Michael Lorenz addressed the media during a press conference, stating that Villasenor had expressed a clear intention to take the lives of innocent people. The investigation led to the recovery of over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, seven rifles, two revolvers, a handgun, and a shotgun from Villasenor’s family home. The chief expressed gratitude towards Villasenor’s family for their cooperation during the investigation.

Lorenz did not comment on the legality of the weapons’ acquisition. However, he revealed that Villasenor had developed an obsession with the infamous Columbine High School massacre, which occurred 25 years ago on April 20. The police believe that Villasenor planned to carry out the attack around that date, which falls on a weekend this year.

The criminal complaint alleges that Villasenor threatened to commit a crime resulting in death and great bodily harm to five unidentified students referred to as Jane Does No. 1 through 5. Although no hit list or manifesto was found during Villasenor’s arrest, the police were able to identify the potential victims through social interactions during the investigation.

School officials became aware of the alleged plot when a classmate, who had spoken with Villasenor, reported the conversation to administrators. Ben Dykhouse, the principal of Ontario Christian High School, commended the student for feeling comfortable enough to come forward and emphasized the importance of maintaining open lines of communication.
