One person was killed and seven others were injured in an overnight shooting in Denver, Colorado. The incident occurred at 5514 E. 33rd Ave., near the Horizon Lounge in the Park Hill Neighborhood. According to Kurt Barnes, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department, the shooting appears to be connected to an after-hours gathering at the Hell’s Lovers Motorcycle club.
Preliminary investigations suggest that multiple guns were fired, both inside and outside the club. Shareef Aleem, a nearby resident, reported hearing approximately 20 gunshots around 3 a.m. Witnesses observed people fleeing the scene in their vehicles following the shooting.
The victims include six adult men and one adult woman. One of the male victims succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The extent of the injuries sustained by the other six victims is currently unknown.
The Denver Police Department has urged anyone with additional information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-713-9867. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
This incident is the latest in a series of shootings in Denver involving more than five victims. In October, six people were shot at a party in an industrial area of the city. In September, a 17-year-old was accused of shooting multiple individuals outside Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row. Additionally, a shooting occurred in downtown Denver in June during the celebration of the Denver Nuggets’ NBA championship.
