An Oklahoma sheriff’s deputy, Vaughn Cannon, was arrested for the murder of his wife, Jordan Cannon, who was also a deputy with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at their home in Oklahoma City.

According to reports, police officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at the Cannon residence. The argument between the couple escalated, resulting in Vaughn Cannon shooting and killing his wife.

When the officers arrived, Vaughn Cannon was found hiding in a back bedroom. He cooperated with the officers and opened the bedroom door, revealing Jordan Cannon’s lifeless body. Vaughn Cannon was then handcuffed and taken into custody.

Both Vaughn and Jordan Cannon had joined the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 as patrol officers. Vaughn was hired in March, and Jordan followed in June.

Vaughn Cannon has been formally fired from the sheriff’s office and has been charged with murder. Court records show the couple were married in 2019. They also show that Jordan filed for a divorce in 2021, but divorce proceedings were dismissed by a judge in 2022 after neither party showed up to court.
