The Oklahoma City Police Department has released body and dash camera footage of a car chase and subsequent altercation that occurred on August 24. The incident began when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle near SW 29th Street and Miller Avenue. The driver, later identified as Logan Hathaway, refused to comply and fled, leading to a short pursuit.
During the chase, Officer Alfredo Lopez-Soto managed to catch up with Hathaway and a struggle ensued. The body camera footage shows the altercation between Officer Lopez-Soto and Hathaway. According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Hathaway produced a handgun during the struggle, which discharged.
Hathaway, along with two other suspects, Robin Palma and Alfonso Rodriguez, were eventually apprehended and taken into custody. The Oklahoma City Police Department commended Officer Lopez-Soto for his bravery and composure during the incident.
