An Oklahoma City man is suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife and three children in an apparent murder-suicide. The tragic incident occurred Wednesday night when police responded to a domestic call at a residence just west of Oklahoma City.
Upon arrival, officers discovered five individuals with gunshot wounds. The victims were Cassandra Flores, 29; son Matias Armendariz, 2; daughters Damaris Armendariz, 5; and Hillary Armendariz, 9. Cassandra and two children were found dead at the scene; alleged shooter Ruben Armendariz, 28, and one of the children were still alive but succumbed to their injuries after being transported to local hospitals.
Investigations indicate that Ruben Armendariz and Cassandra Flores were married but separated at the time of the incident. There is no record of a restraining order against Armendariz, and the police had not received any previous domestic disturbance calls related to the residence.
In a media statement, Oklahoma City Police Department said, “This investigation is in the very early stages. Detectives are currently trying to piece together the chain of events that led to the massacre.”
