The Oakland Police Department has made the decision to terminate two officers, Walid Abdel Aziz and Jimmy Marin Coronel, who were involved in a pursuit that resulted in the death of a bystander.

Sources have revealed that the incident occurred on June 25th of last year when the officers were pursuing a Nissan. The pursuit ended with the Nissan crashing into a parked car, which subsequently struck a group of people. A 28-year-old man was struck and killed. The victim’s family has since filed a civil lawsuit against the city of Oakland, accusing the officers of failing to call for medical assistance.
