New York Woman Files Revenge Porn Lawsuit Against Diplo

A New York woman, filing under the pseudonym Jane Doe, has recently lodged a revenge porn lawsuit against DJ and producer Diplo, alleging that he shared sexually explicit videos and photos of her without her consent. Court papers obtained by Rolling Stone reveal that the woman claims to have engaged in Snapchat conversations with Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, starting in April 2016 when she was 21 years old. The suit further alleges that they exchanged sexual images and eventually met in person in June 2016 at a Manhattan hotel room.

According to the lawsuit, the woman consented to some of their sexual encounters being recorded by Pentz during their casual seven-year relationship. However, she asserts that she explicitly expressed her desire for the footage and any intimate photos to remain private. In November of last year, the woman received a message from an individual claiming to possess sexual videos and images of her, which she alleges were sent by Pentz via Snapchat in October 2018. The lawsuit states that Pentz has continued to disclose and distribute these intimate materials from 2018 to the present.

The woman promptly filed a police report in New York on November 7, leading to the issuance of an active investigation by the NYPD. Although the police did not confirm the existence of an arrest warrant for Pentz, they acknowledged the ongoing inquiry into the matter. Pentz’s representative has not yet responded to requests for comment.

This is not the first time Pentz has faced accusations of sharing explicit photos without consent. Shelly Auguste has been engaged in a legal battle with the DJ since 2020, alleging that he coerced her into having sex after a Las Vegas concert and subsequently leaked the recorded encounter online. Auguste has filed a restraining order against Pentz and is currently suing him for sexual battery, assault, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Pentz has denied these allegations, characterizing Auguste as an obsessed fan who has harassed and attacked him.

In July 2021, another Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against Pentz, claiming that he had prevented her from leaving a Las Vegas hotel room until she performed oral sex on him during an afterparty in 2019. The woman later dropped her lawsuit, stating that she regretted her decision and that no payment was offered or requested in connection with withdrawing the filing.
