New Mexico State Police have apprehended a suspect wanted for killing three people and injuring another in a land dispute shooting in Colorado. The Custer County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred north of the state line, and the suspect was captured outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The shooting took place on Monday following an argument over property lines, during which Honmei Clark allegedly opened fire on five individuals. Four of them were struck, resulting in three fatalities. Colorado officials were uncertain of Clark’s intended destination, but New Mexico State Police successfully located him on Interstate 40 near Highland Meadows.
Authorities employed stop sticks to halt the suspect’s truck, leading to his arrest. A woman who was also in the vehicle was not taken into custody. The shooting incident and subsequent arrest are currently under investigation by law enforcement agencies in both Colorado and New Mexico.
