A New Jersey special education teacher, Allison Havemann-Niedrach, has been charged with molesting one of her students, according to authorities. The 43-year-old teacher, who works at Freehold Intermediate School, is facing charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree child welfare endangerment, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago on Saturday.
Havemann-Niedrach, a resident of Jackson, was taken into custody earlier this week following an investigation conducted by the MCPO Special Victims Bureau and Freehold Police Department. The probe revealed that the alleged sexual abuse of the student began earlier this year, Santiago stated. The exact number of incidents and the age of the student have not been disclosed, but Freehold Intermediate School caters to students in grades six through eight.
Havemann-Niedrach has been employed by the Freehold Borough School District since 2022, as stated on her LinkedIn page, where she describes herself as a “passionate, results-driven, and sincere educator.” The district’s superintendent, Asia Michael, sent an email to staff and parents on Friday night, informing them of the arrest of a “former staff member” on charges of third-degree aggravated sexual assault and inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Asbury Park Press.
