New Jersey Middle School Teacher Arrested for Alleged Inappropriate Touching of Student

A New Jersey middle school teacher, Jenna Sciabica, has been arrested following accusations of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old female student. The incident, which occurred on March 13, has led to outrage and bomb threats at Marlboro Memorial Middle School. Sciabica, 38, who has been suspended from her teaching position, has been charged with one count of harassment.

The alleged victim’s mother addressed the Marlboro Board of Education during a meeting, referring to Sciabica as a “predator” who “sexually abused” her daughter within the school premises. The mother claimed that the board failed to prevent the incident and criticized them for not terminating Sciabica’s employment. She further alleged that the crime was witnessed by another staff member and captured on the school’s security cameras.

Sciabica’s attorney, Mitchell Ansell, released a statement vehemently denying the allegations, describing them as “outrageous and defamatory.” Ansell emphasized that his client denies any wrongdoing and plans to plead not guilty to the charge. He highlighted Sciabica’s dedication to education, her exemplary record, and her close relationship with the student’s family, even being invited into their home on numerous occasions.

Ansell also revealed that Sciabica and her family have been subjected to bomb and death threats as a result of the false accusations. The attorney expects his client to be fully exonerated during the trial.

The incident has had severe consequences for the school, with bomb threats being called in on two separate occasions. However, subsequent searches of the building yielded no evidence of any explosives. School officials were unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
