Murray police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a bicyclist near the intersection of 1100 East and 5600 South on Monday, February 5. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. when the bicyclist, traveling westbound on 5600 South, was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a blue Toyota hatchback leaving the area following the accident. Authorities believe the vehicle sustained front-end damage and suspect that the driver was aware of the collision. The victim, a 50-year-old resident of the area, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries.
In an effort to gather more information, investigators are keen to speak with the driver of the blue Toyota hatchback, as well as any other individuals who may have been involved or witnessed the incident.
