A series of criminal incidents have been reported in Campbell, California, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and security measures in the area. The incidents, which include battery with serious bodily injury, trespassing, possession of paraphernalia and narcotics, petty theft, intent to defraud, vandalism, DUI, disorderly conduct, burglary, grand theft, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of controlled substances, have left residents concerned about their safety.
In one incident, occurring at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue, an argument escalated into violence when a suspect punched the victim in the stomach twice before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious bodily injury.
Another incident, reported at 8:23 a.m. in the 600 block of Marathon Drive, involved a woman who refused to leave an apartment complex, claiming she lived there despite evidence to the contrary. This incident resulted in a trespassing charge.
At 7:57 a.m. in the 1300 block of Camden Avenue, a woman was found on private property starting a fire. Upon further investigation, she was discovered to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and opioids, leading to charges of possession of paraphernalia and narcotics.
In a separate incident at 11:09 p.m. in the 400 block of West Sunnyoaks Avenue, two suspects stole three plants, each valued at approximately $150, resulting in a petty theft charge.
Furthermore, an individual fraudulently altered a business check for $1,100, intending to defraud a business located in the 00 block of East Campbell Avenue.
Vandalism incidents were also reported. In one case, occurring at 9:15 a.m. in the 100 block of East Campbell Avenue, a woman caused $800 worth of damage by hitting and damaging a back door. In another incident, taking place at 11 a.m. in the 3400 block of South Bascom Avenue, a transient individual keyed the front and rear driver side doors of a victim’s vehicle after being asked to leave the area.
Burglaries were also reported in Campbell. In the 1700 block of Winchester Boulevard, two suspects broke the windows of two vehicles and stole a wallet from one of them. Additionally, in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue, a man cut the blinds enclosing an apartment’s exterior patio, causing $75 in damage, and stole fishing rods valued at $75.
In a separate incident at 300 block of Budd Avenue, someone entered an unlocked apartment and stole four guitars worth a staggering $26,067.
Other incidents include the theft of tires in the 300 block of Union Avenue and a robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue, where a suspect struck a victim with a skateboard during a shoplifting incident.
A man was also arrested for possession of stolen items after being stopped for a vehicle code violation in the 900 block of East Hamilton Avenue. During his arrest, he damaged the rear-facing camera equipment in the patrol car.
Lastly, in the 1800 block of Ensenada Drive, someone slashed two tires on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata parked in a driveway.
