The newly revealed stolen vehicle task force in Monroe County announced several arrests today following an incident involving a stolen vehicle. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call yesterday reporting a possible stolen vehicle driving recklessly in Rochester. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver refused to pull over and intentionally collided with a patrol car.
The pursuit came to an end on a street where three individuals fled from the stolen vehicle. All three suspects, who are minors, were later apprehended. The driver, a 14-year-old, had previously been involved in a robbery last month and was wearing an ankle monitor. The suspects are facing charges of criminal mischief and possession of stolen property. Additionally, a 13-year-old passenger is also charged with possession of stolen property. A 12-year-old passenger was released to a guardian following the arrest.
The stolen vehicle task force successfully recovered four vehicles during this operation. The Greece Police Department has been notified of the damage caused to their vehicles and will be compensated with a payment exceeding $2,500.
